Thai and Lao cooking are built on balance — sweet, sour, salty, spicy, all in one bite. We carry the ingredients that actually let you hit that balance at home.
850 E. Valley Pkwy, Escondido

Asian Market Escondido is North County's go-to for Thai and Lao ingredients. We stock Mae Ploy and Maesri curry pastes (red, green, yellow, panang, massaman), Aroy-D coconut milk, palm sugar, tamarind paste, padaek (Lao fermented fish sauce), and the best fish sauce brands sourced direct.
Our produce section has the fresh herbs and aromatics Thai and Lao recipes actually call for: lemongrass, galangal, fresh kaffir lime leaves (not just frozen), Thai basil (horapha), holy basil (krapao) when available, dill for laap, and Thai bird's-eye chilies.
We carry jasmine rice in everything from 5 lb bags to 50 lb sacks, Thai sticky rice for khao niao and Lao meals, glass noodles for pad woon sen, rice noodles for pad see ew and khao poon, and a strong Thai and Lao snack and drink section including coconut water, lychee jelly, and Thai iced tea mix.
A non-exhaustive list of the thai & laoitems we keep on the shelves week to week. If a product is listed on our website, we carry it in-store — for anything not shown, submit a product request.
